Thanks Speechtimefun! |
This Christmas, not only was I blessed with love and support from my family but also from an amazing community of SLP blogger friends. It’s funny, you know, how close you can get to people nowadays without even “meeting” them. I love these girls, and although I haven’t met most of them in “real life,” they are very much a part of my everyday life. For instance, my husband knows exactly who I’m talking about when I mention Jenna from SpeechRoomNews, Jenn from CrazySpeechWorld, Lauren from BusyBeeSpeech, SpeechTimeFun, along with numerous others. These girls are family to me. And what does family do? Well, a group of us decided send each Christmas cards this year and be part of a Gift Exchange. Let me tell you, I’ve never had so much fun!
It was so much fun mailing the 20 something Christmas cards around the nation for this group and then hanging up the ones I received on my fireplace mantel. My husband got used to saying “Is this from another speechie friend?”
For the gift exchange, we used Elfster. Have you heard of this site? It sets up an entire gift exchange for you. Everyone signs in and then Elfster assigns you a “secret elf” to buy a present for. You never know who is assigned to you and you can ask your person anonymous questions.
My package arrived just as I was getting home after surgery. Can we say “perfect timing?” If I could have, I would have jumped up and down with excitement!
Now for the big reveal….who was my secret Santa?
It was Natalie Snyders! If you remember a while back, Natalie guest posted several in-depth posts on copyright issues. I love this girl and she obvious knows my taste!
My favorite color is yellow…I would have painted my entire house yellow if not for my poor husband who begged me to stop after the living room, kitchen, and laundry room were covered in sunshine. =).
Natalie bought me a beautiful yellow scarf, complete with little sparkly gems. I can’t wait to add a little sunshine to my boring black work outfits! (Here’s a little selfie of me in my yellow laundry room-I kid you not, I love this color!)
She also bought me a personalized (yellow) Mrs. Allison mouse pad. Okay, so I didn’t even have a mouse pad at work (which is really annoying because my mouse wasn’t sensitive). This will be a perfect (and adorable) addition to my desk at work. It will definitely make me smile when I look at it.
Thank you so much Natalie for the wonderful gifts! Make sure to go check out her Facebook and TPT store-she is fabulous!
Come as you are. Leave encouraged.
I'd love for you to join my newsletter family so that I can start sending weekly encouragement as well as access to an entire library of free resources like this Student Self-Progress Report Sheet!
