I gave these little gems away at ASHA and kept hearing requests for more! So….over Christmas break, I formatted them into a digital version, made them a tad bigger, added tabs for organization and added more sounds!
It’s perfect for those quick screenings on the go! And…this hand-held size easily slips into a purse or pocket for traveling therapists.
Each card contains one sound for each position (initial, medial and final) and contains an optional tab for easy reference.
This quick deck contains one card for each of the following sounds:
/k/c/
/g/
/f/
/s/
/s blends/
/z/
/l/
/l blends/
/sh/
/ch/
/j/
/th/
/r/
/rl/
/or/
/er/
/air/
/ar/
/ear/
/ire/
/r blends/

January 16, 2015 at 6:28 pmI think the artic cards are a great screening item as well! Much better than me rushing to find words on-line, writing them out on a legal pad, then throwing them away, and then repeating the process all over again when I need to screen a child or give an informal assessment.

January 16, 2015 at 11:37 pmI just love your many ideas! I always enjoy your posts, especially as you tie your faith to our great profession. Your passion always shines through your words! I can see myself using these cards as I walk from the classrooms to my “office” (average steps taken per day at work 9,000! as measured by fitbit…..just going to the copier, the students and back!) and also as a quick check to see how kids are doing and during RtI work!! Thanks for the time you took to make them!
