Thanks for Sticking with Me {Giveaway}

April 23, 2015

Last year on April 14th my life changed a little. Okay, a lot. Last week we celebrated Aislyn’s first birthday and I could not be happier. 750_1250_Fotor_Collage

I think she was pretty happy about it too.

1 year birthday1

Anyways, life this year has become a little more hectic. I have a list of products, blog posts and ideas I keep in my Erin Condren planner but have not even looked at, much less begun. Needless to say, I’m thankful for your patience this year. Despite the slow down, you have continued to support and encourage this little blog, as well as my family-I do love my readers!  As a little thank you, I’m giving away a $50 Erin Condren gift certificate below. Perhaps it will keep your busy life a little more organized as well!

    I’ve been kept very busy this year by working to establish some form of AAC for nearly all the students in the two ID classrooms I work in. Before I took this position, most of the students really had no means of effectively communicating their wants and needs.

    What has kept me busy this year?–Well, a large caseload at my school, with many students on the Autism Spectrum, and planning therapy activities for them, progress testing them, and writing reports and IEPs. At home, I have a wonderful dog (sweet Sadie, a German Shepherd) that I love to walk and play with. My kids are older, so not so busy with their activities, but I still do all the laundry (I love my washer and dryer, I know it’s weird). AND, I’m taking a FANTASTIC Bible study class on Wednesday nights at my church. Took the overview class last fall, and just loved it, so I signed up to be a facilitator for the longer, more in-depth class, and my husband even started going to it with me, so we have good quality time together every week when we study and go to the class. Whew, no wonder I’m tired a lot!

    I started my CF this year and it has been such an incredible whirlwind. I am truly blessed to have ended up in such a supportive district, and my husband has been a wonderful cheerleader all along the way! Most people are excited to end the school year but I’m actually a little sad that it’ll be over soon because I have had such a great time learning the ropes as a “real SLP.” But, we’re also expecting our first baby this August so I’d be lying if I said I’m not a little excited about summer…

    This year I have been busy trying to keep up with the usual IEP madness but with a twist. I found out at the beginning of the school year that I’m pregnant. She is our first and we are so excited! She’s due in 5 days! Keeping track of all the IEPS and doctor’s appointments has been challenging. I would love to have a useful planner to help with all this new mommy organization.

First day of year 11 for me!  This is one of my f First day of year 11 for me!
This is one of my favorite verses and such a timely message for my students AND me!
This year my husband and I made the decision to homeschool our first grader. I was NOT thinking I would ever be a "homeschool mama" and I'm still not sure how it will all get done with me working part-time but here I am, praying for strength, and patience, and energy, and discipline, and thinking, "perhaps this is the moment for which I have been created?" 🤗

So if this year is full of uncertainty for you as well, know that He’s ☝️got this and I'm praying for the both of us, that we would shine brightly, and make the most of EVERY moment. 💗
P.S. (Because I know I'll get comments, I work at a private christian school, so I'm totally allowed to put verses on my door!) 🙏🏻
