I love products with double purposes. I don’t just want something to target articulation. I want something to target articulation, language, spelling, writing, and grammar and I want it to look pretty. I want a lot, I know. 🙂
It’s why I’m adding a new category to my TPT Store titled “Functional Decoration.” In this category, you’ll find lots of adorable ways to decorate or add to your therapy room, all while addressing your students’ goals. It’s a win-win!
My newest product in this category is designed to target every. single. one of the targets I mentioned above. And that makes me a happy girl. 🙂
I was getting tired of constantly spelling frequently occurring words while doing activities with my students. When I observed teachers, they had a solution to this problem. They provided a word wall, which lists the most frequently occurring words in the English language within view of students. Now, students can use their own resources to figure out how to spell words, instead of being dependent on the teacher or SLP to spell them.
Using the 1000 Fry Word List, I came up with a word wall that lists words by sound. And I LOVED how it turned out in my room.
This packet comes with everything you need to make a beautiful (and functional) bulletin board, including:
*20 Rectangle Sound Labels (with an additional blank label)
*20 Circle Sound Labels (with an additional blank label)
*1 “Articulation Word Wall” banner
*54 Fry words separated into the following sounds: /b,p,m,t,d,k,g,l,l-blends,f,v,s,s-blends,z,j,sh,ch,th,r,r-blends/.
I added the borders and ribbon to amp up the look.
Have a different color scheme? No problem. Check out my Primary Color Word Wall as well!
