Today I’m writing about I Can Do apps for speech and language development. I am talking about 5 of their apps today but they have many more so you’ll want to check them out!
I’m going to show you lots of pictures from the I Can Do apps I am reviewing, because, frankly, they’re gorgeous. They might even be my favorite part about I Can Do apps. I just love it when I can find relatable, clear pictures that promote learning!
For each activity, you’ll see the home page, which contains 5 distinct tasks progressing in difficulty. I love this feature because I can pull this app out and use across my caseload!
First up, their sequencing app:
Did you notice how all of the activities are functional too? Grilling, packing, laundry, washing hands… these are the scenes I want my students noticing!
The next app is following directions.
I especially love the before and after statements because so many of my students need practice with these!
Here is the associations app:
And the categories app:
Again, I just love these pictures. Don’t you?
Here is the rhyming app, which also contains a memory match rhyming game.
Come as you are. Leave encouraged.
I'd love for you to join my newsletter family so that I can start sending weekly encouragement as well as access to an entire library of free resources like this Student Self-Progress Report Sheet!

August 27, 2015 at 9:15 amI love these apps and already have a few, so it’s difficult to say which one I would use most. I use the associations and categories apps all the time! I love the clear pictures. I would like to explore the question apps , or maybe following directions.

August 27, 2015 at 1:50 pmI NEED all of the apps, but I would probably use the Following Directions the most. I have so many students who work on this goal. Like you, I find they continue to need terms such as before and after added to increase complexity once they can follow basic commands.

August 27, 2015 at 2:13 pmI agree–the pictures in the app are beautiful! I think the associations and categories apps would be especially useful with my caseload.

August 27, 2015 at 2:43 pmI already have the sequencing app and the following directions app. Out of the 3 apps I don’t have, I think I would use the categories app the most. Many of my students need help with categories, comparing and contrasting, and describing. This app could help with many different concepts.

August 27, 2015 at 3:56 pmThey all look good but I think that I’d use the following directions one the most.

August 27, 2015 at 4:13 pmI think that I would use the following directions app the most. I’m always looking for good, functional ways to target this skill that so many of my students have difficulty with, and it looks like it would be great, especially with all of the different options and levels of difficulty.

August 27, 2015 at 4:58 pmI have a group of little ones that have the hardest time with why things go together, how are things different, how are they alike and making associations. So, I think the associations app would be great for that! All of these apps are skills that are perfect for the kinds of goals that are written for language delayed youngsters. Thanks for showing me another possible tool in my toolbox!

August 27, 2015 at 11:47 pmSo many of my kiddos struggle with phonological awareness skills. The rhyming app would be great for them! They love doing hands on activities rather than paper work.

August 28, 2015 at 1:27 amThese apps look awesome! I can think of lots of kiddos that would have fun with these! I just started at a new school and a lot of the kids on my caseload have sequencing goals and categories goals so one of those would probably be used the most where I am at!
