For the entire month of August, I have a fun little series starting on the blog. A few of your favorite bloggers are coming together to provide us with some “Quick and Easy Back-to-School Tips.” We all need these don’t we? I just love being part of a community that is so generous and giving! Today, Jenna from Speech Room News is sharing a few of her tips.
I’ve been back to work all week. I went kicking and screaming grudgingly, but am starting to feel back to a routine! Nicole asked me to share a quick tip, so hang on, this tip will be over in a flash!
My BEST strategy for staying organized to and on-track for IEP and Evaluation meetings is to write detailed notes and deadlines in my planner. I write them 4 times in my planner for each IEP!
1. Write the IEP meeting date.
2. Two weeks before the IEP meeting, write the due-to-teacher date (ours have to be turned in to teachers two weeks prior.)
3. One week before IEP due, write in planner to write IEP.
4. Two weeks before IEP due, write in planner to collect updated progress monitoring.
So I have notes to myself starting 4 weeks before the IEP meeting to make sure I’m keeping up! When I stick to my schedule, I am never scrambling to collect data or finish my IEPs.
How do you get organized? Leave a comment and let me know!
