Okay, so the word “updated” isn’t really accurate for this title. Completely “transformed” fits it a little better. Really, though, this is a new (and improved) resource for you altogether. You can check it out on the video at the end of this post. In other words, if you already own this best-seller, you’ll want to go re-download it again…for free! If not, I’ll be changing the price to reflect the many additional hours I spent on it so you’ll want to grab it while it’s still a low price.
Trust me, I know no one wants to think about the first week in speech right now. As I’m writing this, you’re probably busy with last minute progress reports, cleaning out your shelves and daydreaming about that beach vacation you’ve been planning.
However.
A planned year is a better year. Starting last month, I received a lot of emails from you all asking to update the calendars in this packet so I know there are lots of early planners out there! I thought I would just rework the entire packet to make it even easier for you to have everything ready for that (waaaay far off 😉 ) first week in speech.
I really tried hard to think of every detail to make your life a little easier. Because, let’s face it: that first week with our students can be HARD. Let’s not make it harder with meaningless work.
♥This packet can be completely printed in black and white to save you ink
♥Details such as thick dotted lines show you exactly where to cut
♥Multiple size binder spines
♥Checkboxes for professional and personal goals to keep you organized
Let’s check it out! To show you how this packet has changed, I made a few before and after transformation pictures. Being an avid HGTV watcher, this was actually a lot fun!
First, I changed the entire packet’s orientation to portrait. This just seemed to “fit” better with binders and other organizational material you may already have.
Instead of circular “Rules” that take forever to cut out, I created rectangular “Expectations” since many districts are going to this more positive wording. I’m loving the look of them down my bookcase!
I tried not to overlook tiny details including staple outlines so that students can easily assemble speech books by knowing exactly where to staple. If you’d rather a simple worksheet instead of a book, I also included that 🙂
Data sheets are included for 1, 2, or 3 groups of students and a quick checkbox to indicate “RtI” or “IEP” keeps your caseload organized.
Now, a monthly, weekly and daily planner are included with checkboxes for IEPs, Evaluations and even some personal planning like goals, meals and healthy habits.
Multiple binder covers (in color and black and white), along with 1 and 2 inch binder spines will keep your paperwork organized.
If you don’t think that’s enough, also included are:
♥Fun worksheets for your students to draw and name teachers
♥Conversation cards to get to know one another
♥A progress monitoring form for your students to take their own data
♥A therapy schedule
♥Door hangers
♥Certificates for students
♥Letters and permission slips for parents
Whew! There is a lot going on in this packet. I hope you like it as much as I do! For those of you who already own it (thank you!), make sure to remember to re-download this version for free!
What to see more? Here’s a video I made!
What do you think? I’d love to hear how you could use this packet!
Come as you are. Leave encouraged.
I'd love for you to join my newsletter family so that I can start sending weekly encouragement as well as access to an entire library of free resources like this Student Self-Progress Report Sheet!
