Today I turn 30. A number I always viewed as old when I was a child but now seems So. Very. Young. As a reflect on the many blessings given to to me over these 30 short years-ones I know I don’t always deserve-I realize God is good, all the time. His ways are higher than ours, His plans better. I never in a million years would have pictured myself here, at 1:00 am writing a blog for a profession I’m crazy about, holding my sweet, 1 week-old baby in one arm and typing with the other. It takes some major talent, ya’ll! I figure though since I’m up anyway, I might as well be writing. 🙂 How’s that for multi-tasking!?
If you hadn’t heard the news, Declan Jay was born on June 2nd. His name is Irish, just like my daughter Aislyn and means “Man of Prayer.” That is my prayer for him. My husband and were told there was a good possibility of never having children, so all I can say is God is good, all the time. His timing is perfect, even if it doesn’t always align with this type-A, planner, personality.
We are completely in love with this little guy, even if he does keep me up all night writing blog posts 😉
He’s been the perfect birthday gift and I’m looking forward to spending the day today doing my favorite job.
