Hello there!
Today I just hit “publish” on a resource that’s been in the works for quite a while and one I’m super excited to share with you today. Ever since I began my Evidence-Based Intervention series here on the blog in March, I’ve wanted to create a “grab and go” packet that would include it all. And here it is. This binder is the ultimate “keep close at hand and pull out every day” binder!
There is often a lot of insecurity and fear surrounding those two little words “Evidence-Based” but there doesn’t need to be! I created this resource to help me easily provide vocabulary interventions that have been proven effective AND do them with little stress! Whew!
Here is a quick peek into this huge 100+ page binder but below I’ll also be posting a lot of picture so you can take a look!
Included in this binder is material covering the interventions of context clues, affixes, keyword strategy, semantic organizers, and student definitions.
Then, for each of these interventions, 4 words should stick out to you:
- EVIDENCE
- TEACH
- PRACTICE
- ASSESS
First, current EVIDENCE supporting each intervention is included. (Perfect for pulling out during evaluations or for parents!)
Next, TEACH sections are included for each intervention clearly providing instruction and material on how to effectively engage your students.
I made sure to include plenty of PRACTICE sections for each intervention to provide those opportunities for students to develop their skills.
Last, ASSESSMENT sections for each intervention make it to easy to gauge student learning.
What do you think? This huge binder will be heavily discounted for the first 20 buyers but I’d love to give away a copy too! Enter the rafflecopter below!
Come as you are. Leave encouraged.
I'd love for you to join my newsletter family so that I can start sending weekly encouragement as well as access to an entire library of free resources like this Student Self-Progress Report Sheet!

July 1, 2016 at 5:00 pmI don’t have any other vocab EBP that is easily accessible- this is an amazing idea and great resource! I’m sure it took a lot of time to put together. It will save the rest of us a ton of time, I’m sure! 🙂

July 1, 2016 at 5:12 pmYES. Sometimes we an get caught up in all the cute graphics and fonts we lose sight of the skill we are targeting and how best to target that skill. This looks like a fabulous resource and one you would want to have out all the time!

July 2, 2016 at 4:38 amIt is great to have a resource to go to. EBP makes me a little uncomfortable sometimes because I feel like I should be looking up some research all the time- but in the real world of SLP it is hard to make that happen some days. I enjoy your blog-it nice to read about your SLP joys and sorrows. You always have some encouraging words, tips and resources. Thanks
Genevieve says
July 2, 2016 at 5:41 amI don’t know any other EBP for vocabulary. This looks amazing and I can see this product being used everyday! I can see using this for collaboration as well. Thanks for all the work you do to make our jobs more effective and efficient.

July 2, 2016 at 5:41 pmThis resource will be so helpful for my students with vocabulary goals. As a first year SLP I struggled with figuring out how to teach vocab and when a student has truly met their goal. This will be so helpful to use for this upcoming school year and will benefit other students as well. Thank you for creating such an awesome product!

July 2, 2016 at 7:32 pmI have so many students working on vocabulary goals! I have been randomly pulling resources to target their goals, but I have been frustrated by the randomness! I love that this is a comprehensive resource with research to back it up. Thank you for all of your hard work in putting this together!! I am definitely adding this to my TPT wish list!!

July 3, 2016 at 3:42 amAs usual, for your products, this looks great and usable! The only thing I can add on teaching vocabulary is that I have started making quizzes for pre/post tests and those do help me check what the students got out of what we covered.
Nicole Allison says
July 3, 2016 at 10:58 pmI’ll need to look into that. Thank you so much!

July 3, 2016 at 5:41 amThis looks so great 🙂 Another strategy I can think of is teaching vocabulary in thematic clusters (which builds on semantic categories/semantic mapping).
Nicole Allison says
July 3, 2016 at 10:58 pmI’ll need to look into that one. Thank you!

July 5, 2016 at 9:07 pmNo surprise that this is another fantastic resource. I love your materials and will definitely have this on my wish list for the fall when I return back to school. I cannot think of anything else to add. You did a thorough job! THANKS!

July 7, 2016 at 1:57 amLove this resource! For most of my vocabulary intervention I try to use contextualized therapy. If i know that students are reading specific books in the classroom I will try to use those same books in therapy or I will try to theme it so that I know the vocabulary words targeted are going to be used frequently in the next few weeks to hopefully increase generalization outside of the speech room.
