Have you ever screened a student and thought, I just need a few more responses in [……] area to really get a good picture of this student’s needs? This was me, ALWAYS.
I created this Screening Toolkit for those little babies (AKA kindergartners) coming through your door at around this time. Perhaps (like me), you tell a corny joke, exchange what you did over the summer or show them pictures of your family. And then you begin SCREENING.
And….now you’re supposed to have a nice rounded-out picture of this student you just met and whether they will receive some sort of additional testing or RtI services from you. Well, I needed a little bit more.
With this toolkit, you screen, score, and (if needed) assess 5 areas of speech and language addressed by the Common Core State Standards.
Say a student falls below the cutoff score on answering WH Questions, or Sequencing, or saying /s/ blends. Well, then you can continue to further assess with this tool.
From the above example, my little guy needs to target specifically “where,” “when,” and “why” questions.
My favorite part of this packet is that it includes real photographs, which makes them easily relatable to our students.
Also included are student handouts and forms to keep track of your screening and assessment data.
Just a few notes I want to mention about this particular product:
• This toolkit was created for Speech Language Pathologists. SLPs have the most training when it comes to assessing areas of language and articulation so I geared this packet to them.
• These are not norm-referenced testing measures. Although they contain scoring guidelines and “loosely” created cut-off scores, they rely on your clinical judgment to determine whether a student could benefit from addition intervention.
Need a comprehensive screening and assessment measure? You will love this!
And RIGHT NOW, you’ll find this product at it’s absolutely LOWEST price ever (not even a sale can top this) for 36 hours!
AND I’m giving 2 away right here!
Come as you are. Leave encouraged.
I'd love for you to join my newsletter family so that I can start sending weekly encouragement as well as access to an entire library of free resources like this Student Self-Progress Report Sheet!

August 10, 2015 at 5:49 pmI would LOVE to use this product to screen the incoming kindergarteners this year to determine if further/standardized testing is necessary.
