Those three little words have the power to well up all sorts of feelings within us, am I right? Anxiety, stress, worry, even anger that my precious summer is coming to an end are all ones I’ve been known to have. But then also excitement, joy and even a sense of calm if I’m prepared can be elicited with those words. One way to bring on those feelings of calm is to grab a few items during the huge TeachersPayTeachers Back to School Sale. That means my entire store will be on sale August 1-2!
That’s great news because it means you can grab up new products like my Evidence-Based Intervention Binder:
and Nonfiction Texts Targeting Articulation AND Language for the entire year
at a great price so you walk in that first day feeling prepared (and with no… err less anxiety!)
This also means I have a TON in my cart from other sellers that will help me be prepared. Thanks Jenna for hosting this amazing linky where I get to show off all of my goodies!
- First up, Apraxia by Teaching Talking is on my list. I started working with preschoolers last year and the district I’m in had zero materials for this sweet population. I NEED this, and it would have been bought even if there wasn’t a sale.
- Next up, No Prep Speech and Language For a Year from my sweet friend Maureen. FOR A YEAR, folks. You have me hooked, especially since it’s no prep
- Can we just talk about this Social Skills Wiz: You Decide Story from Creative Speech Lab? Students read scenarios and then can decide where to take the story by choosing between multiple paths. My social skills groups are going to LOVE this!
- Vocalic R Elicitation Webs from Kiwi Speech. Yay for any resources helping me target that pesky vocalic R!
- Finally, I love this Pre-Primer & Primer Sight Word Tangrams by SLPTalk with Desiree. Tangrams are such a great following direction lesson and incorporating sight words with them is genius, Desiree!
I hope you found some great resource ideas for your caseload this year! Head back to Speech Room News to what others are buying!
As we prepare once again for another school year, I leave you with this quote:
“You will never have this day again, so make it count.“-author unknown
- That goes for short summer days or long school days.
- Days when your students seem to have the one goal of driving you crazy or days when you love them so much you want to take them home.
- Days when you can’t look up from that stack of paperwork to take a bite of your (now cold) lunch or days you have the luxury of enjoying a pizza and popcorn party with a kindergarten classroom.
- Days when all you can think about is getting home to that glass of wine and falling into bed or days you don’t want to leave because that one student is finally starting to master his goal.
So whatever your day might look like, I challenge you to make it count.
Come as you are. Leave encouraged.
I'd love for you to join my newsletter family so that I can start sending weekly encouragement as well as access to an entire library of free resources like this Student Self-Progress Report Sheet!
