Last weekend I visited JoAnn Fabrics (aka my second home during the school year).
Have you been here? Not only does it fill me with inspiration, dreams of new therapy materials and all things SLP, it also sends weekly coupons right to your phone using the JoAnn App!
I knew what I wanted going in (a sign for my door) but, of course I ended up walking out with much more!
As a result of a little paint and a few minutes, I now have this little beauty hanging on my door!
I grabbed up a plain wooden chalkboard for $8, a can of spray paint in my favorite color and some scrapbook letters.
I taped and newspapered (is that a word?) the inside.
Then, I sprayed it to death. Quite literally. I’m always afraid I’m going to miss a spot so I don’t take any chances. 🙂
I taped on some pretty letters and voila! I have my own sign!
I have looooved all the responses and feedback I am getting on my little therapy room AND I have LOVED seeing all of your “home away from homes”. You might want to head on over to my facebook page- I have a pretty fun giveaway going on right now that I want you to know about!
Come as you are. Leave encouraged.
I'd love for you to join my newsletter family so that I can start sending weekly encouragement as well as access to an entire library of free resources like this Student Self-Progress Report Sheet!

August 29, 2014 at 8:17 pmI just love your crafty ways. You make every project look simple! You inspired me to make my classroom look a little more like home. I bought a curtain rod, fun sheers, a lamp, and made a few other changes. By the way…it s amazing what a little ribbon can do. Thank you!! You are truly an inspiration. I hope you enjoyed your summer and the time at home with your daughter! =)

September 2, 2014 at 12:03 pmThank you so much for your kind words! I loooove creating but would not consider myself a “creative” person. I’m so glad Pinterest and other people are out there to give me inspiration! I enjoyed every moment of summer with my daughter-thank you for thinking of me. I hope you had a wonderful summer as well!
