This year, one of my big goals is to target writing. Students need to understand how words fit together, arrange them and play with them in order to finally write with them. When trying to come up with a way to address these skills, it finally hit me-What better way to have some fun with these goals than a huge word wall they interact with.
I’m pretty excited about this wall. Actually, I need to use the past-tense. I WAS pretty excited about this wall. So excited, in fact, that it’s already displayed and tested out by several of my students.
This was super-easy to make. All I did was print them on card stock, laminate and attach 4 strips of Velcro vertically to the wall (and the other side of the Velcro to the cards). Now, students can walk up and arrange the words to make their own silly sentences. All while learning about the parts of speech.
I designed them so that extras could be stored in a standard-sized envelope. And…the nouns and verbs are created using my favorite clip art in the whole wide world: Melonheadz and KPM Doodles.
I’m giving away 2 of these packets just for my blog readers! Just enter the rafflecopter below. This packet will be on sale 20% off this week only and you can grab it HERE.
Come as you are. Leave encouraged.
I'd love for you to join my newsletter family so that I can start sending weekly encouragement as well as access to an entire library of free resources like this Student Self-Progress Report Sheet!

September 4, 2014 at 10:33 pmI have decided to devote more attention to writing this year too! I have set up a writing station (now that I have space to do such things in my fancy new speech room that is NOT labeled “storage” on the outside this year) and this would go great with it 🙂

September 7, 2014 at 10:50 pmWhat a great idea! My bulletin boards are already filled with your superhero common core set and a copycat of your communication tree, but I think I’m going to have to make room for this 🙂 You always create such wonderful, functional products. Well worth the money! Thank you
