There’s just some products that are your favorites. This happens to be the case with my Nonfiction Passages. These have been highly engaging for my students (they love talking about real-life instances and relating them back to their own life) and also makes my life a tad easier because it addresses lots of Common Core skills all at once.
Let’s take a look at how:
Each passage comes written 2 ways. Level 1 passages are geared toward K-3 grades. You will notice that they contain WH questions, simplified vocabulary, foundational skills and fill-in grammar questions. You will also notice that I list the Common Core State Standard next to each heading.
Level 2 passages are geared toward my grades 4-8. They contain more critical comprehension questions such as “why” and “how” questions, higher-level vocabulary and grammar sentences that they must edit to make correct.
To make life even easier, I include student versions for each level.
This past weekend I just finished the last edition (Winter) to the series. You can now have nonfiction passages for the entire year! Click HERE for the money-saving BUNDLE!
I’m giving away two of these bundles to some lucky winners! Just enter the rafflecopter below. Good luck!
Come as you are. Leave encouraged.
I'd love for you to join my newsletter family so that I can start sending weekly encouragement as well as access to an entire library of free resources like this Student Self-Progress Report Sheet!

October 6, 2014 at 10:07 pmI totally agree and cannot wait to try these! For fairly competent readers, they can read to themselves or to each other, and for many of my students they can work to build listening comprehension as a student or I read the selection aloud to them. Great idea and can be used with a wide range of ages and ability levels!
