Have you heard of THE cutest new educational tool on the block? Introducing Bluebee Pals-a revolutionary plush learning tool. I was honored to meet the creators at ASHA and was thrilled when I got to go home with a Bluebee. It has literally changed my therapy sessions.
These sweet animals are not only adorable, they’re SMART too. They connect to any device using bluetooth and then speak the audio from that device.
What does that look like in speech for us? It means I can have Bluebee say the articulation words from an app I want my student to practice. I can have him say rhyming words, read stories and name pronouns. For my own little two year old, I can have my husband call my phone and Bluebee talks in “daddy’s voice.” Incredible.
There are SO many possibilities.
Like here where my sweet little kindergartner is learning how to make sounds and spell CVC words with the app Montessori Crosswords. Watch how Bluebee (or we call him Lionel) imitates the sounds.
Here a few of my little friends were having difficulty remembering the rules of a game and how to be a good winner. I recorded my voice and Bluebee reminded them before we played a game. My friends listen to Bluebee soooo much better than they listen to me! Why is that?!
A few tips from me as I learned to work with Bluebee:
- Make sure you are speaking loud enough if you are recording your voice. Also, having the volume turned up helped the mouth movements be more accurate during my session.
- Make sure you introduce Bluebee to your group and let your friends know he is a nice lion (or puppy, zebra, etc.). I forgot to do this with my own two year old at home (bad mommy!) and just had him on the counter when he started talking. Yikes! After a few initial tears, she now loves her Bluebee. 🙂
Bluebee Pals have 6 animal friends to choose from and they are ALL adorable! Bluebee really has changed our sessions. He’s the first thing my students look for and they really do seem to listen to him! Make sure you check this company out and grab your very own Bluebee!
***My Bluebee was provided in exchange for a review. The opinions are all mine though!
Come as you are. Leave encouraged.
I'd love for you to join my newsletter family so that I can start sending weekly encouragement as well as access to an entire library of free resources like this Student Self-Progress Report Sheet!
