Have you broke out the Christmas music yet? I did (even before Thanksgiving) and am LOVING it! Seeing Christmas through my children’s eyes makes it even more special. I’ve also been working on a new One Item packet while my babies are sleeping and let me just tell you-there are literally SO many uses for candy canes!
Like my other One Item Therapy resources, it’s all about simple with this product. With the busy schedules we have, I wanted a packet that would be meaningful and fun for our students but also didn’t require a lot of precious prep-time.
We had so much fun drawing in sugar with candy canes, making crafts, painting, and spelling out letters all with candy canes! We also made them fizz, tasted them and watched them dissolve.
There are so many activities included in this packet that I know your students are going to have a blast with! Better yet, it gets us out of doing the same thing over and over again in therapy and introduces some science in our language lessons.
Here’s a sneak peek as to what’s included:
*Candy Canes Substance Experiment
*Exploding Candy Canes Experiment
*Sink or Float Experiment
*Following Directions
*Candy Cane Observation Booklet
*Writing Observation Worksheet
*Generic Candy Cane Game (to be used to target any skill)
*History of the Candy Cane
*Candy Cane Paper Craft
*Tone of Voice Activity
*Additional Candy Cane Activities
*Christmas Break Tags
