For the entire month of August, I have a fun little series starting on the blog. A few of your favorite bloggers are coming together to provide us with some “Quick and Easy Back-to-School Tips.” We all need these don’t we? I just love being part of a community that is so generous and giving! Today, Lauren from Busy Bee Speech is sharing a few of her tips.
There are three words that elicit dread and excitement in me all at the same time. Back. To. School. On one hand, I have to say goodbye to the lazy days of summer and relaxation and say hello to schedules and paperwork and stress. On the other hand, there’s just something about a fresh new school year that gets me super excited. I love cutesie new classrooms, school supplies, and that feeling of overcoming new challenges.
When Nicole asked me to share a few back-to-school tips with you, I jumped at the chance! Today, I’m going to let you in on 3 tips that are sure to help get your school year started off on the right track.
- Make friends with your janitor.
Seriously, y’all, be nice to them. You might just need an extra chair when you have to squeeze one more kid into your group. Or they might even let you check out the storage rooms if nothing else will fit into the tiny space you are forced to work in. Janitors are always in the know and work super hard, so show them some love.
- Visit your local dollar store.
I know most of you probably frequent the dollar store for therapy and craft materials often. It’s also a great place to find cheap organizing and cleaning supplies. Bins and baskets are my best friends and come in really handy when I’m organizing all my card decks, tongue depressors, and crayons. You’ve got to get creative with your space and your budget.
- Pretty up your paperwork.
Let’s face it. Paperwork is a drag, and it just seems to snowball at the beginning of the year. For some reason, if my forms and lists are organized and pretty I’m more motivated to use them and accomplish what I need to do. Check out Teachers Pay Teachers for LOTS of pretty planners and forms and data sheets. Grab a bunch of them and pick out the ones that work for you! I use THIS one from my store.
What do you think? Do you have any great tips for heading back to school?
