I have some news I’ve been excited to share with you. “The Minimalist SLP,” a monthly newsletter series will be beginning next month.
Because…I’m just going to say it right out: More is not Best.
In our world of one-click shopping, Pinterest-inspired classrooms, and over-the-top crafts and activities, it’s easy to see how the philosophy “More is Best” wound its way into our therapy rooms.
In this monthly newsletter series, I’ll be discussing:
- Why research says Less is actually Better, especially when it comes to our student’s learning
- Creative therapy ideas using practically nothing.
- Shortcuts to data collection and scheduling tips
- The biggest time-suckers and money-wasters and how to avoid them
I think we could all stand to use a little less in our lives. My hope is that through this series, you’ll be able to let out a sigh of relief, realizing that it’s not only OKAY that you’re not doing a bazillion crafts and rocking the therapy room decor, it’s actually BEST.

Seeing your words about the Lord, your family, the work you love, and finding connection with other SLPs all made me take a deep breath and smile. Thanks. I’m thrilled to have found this connection with you. Thank you for the materials you’ve created and for reaching out. Blessings, grace, and peace,

I would like to make memory work pairs- games- but I can’t remember if I can’t do this. I know not to share. In His Holy name! Debbie
