If you’ve been on Instagram, I’m sure your feed has been FILLED TO THE BRINK with ASHA pictures. If you’re like me and are still trying to figure out Instagram, I thought I’d fill you here on one of the most AMAZING weeks of my life! If you weren’t able to make it this year, please plan on it next year-I would LOVE to meet you!
First, let me say that this was my first. ever. ASHA. Being the lone SLP in my district, I have never in my life seen so many speech pathologists all in one place. It was pretty amazing to feel part of such a lively, energetic, positive group of professionals.
It was my first time flying alone AND leaving my little baby for this long. I was feeling pretty nervous going through security-they are never the nicest people-so it didn’t take long to find a best friend-Cinnabon. It thoroughly calmed my nerves while waiting at my gate. 🙂
A group of 11 bloggers including myself were stationed at Booth 1359.
Back row, left to right: Busy Bee Speech, Sublime Speech, Allison’s Speech Peeps (ME!), Speech Room News, The Speech Bubble SLP, Crazy Speech World, Simply Speech, Let’s Talk with Whitney SLP
Front row, left to right: The Dabbling Speechie, Psst Let’s Talk, Consonantly Speaking
Let me just say, it totally blew me away when people came up and said they had heard of little ol’ me and had bought some of my products! I was like “Who ME?!”
There were also a TON of people who had never heard of blog resources, TPT or speech therapy social media. The 11 of us were more than happy to share these great resources!
Booth 1359:
I passed out over 500 business-card-sized /r/ decks and we had well over 1200 people pick up info from our booth. Say what?!
I’ve received so much positive feedback on these small decks, I’m thinking of posting a few in my TPT store! What do’ya think?
Here are a few more pictures of some of the fun that went on:
By Saturday evening we were all pretty tired out!
But still VERY sad to go!
It was one of the most AMAZING 3 days of my life. It makes me appreciate this little blog even more. If you didn’t get a chance to come this year, I would LOVE to meet you next year!
Now I cannot WAIT to see these faces 🙂
Come as you are. Leave encouraged.
I'd love for you to join my newsletter family so that I can start sending weekly encouragement as well as access to an entire library of free resources like this Student Self-Progress Report Sheet!
