Well here I am, sitting in an airport, waiting to go back home from easily the best trip of my professional career. If you didn’t get to attend ASHA this year, I think you should put it on your calendar for next year…right now.
We arrived in a cold snowy Denver on Wednesday evening. My flight was a 5:30 am that morning so it is safe to say I was a little tired.
I was so blessed to get together with 14 other blogger friends and have a table at ASHA to pass out lots of goodies.
Here we are (bottom to top, left to right)
Courtney from PSST! Let’s Talk, Whitney from Let’s Talk, Super Power Speech, Maureen from The Speech Bubble SLP, Felice from The Dabbling Speechie,
Shannon from Speechy Musings, Jenna from Speech Room News, Lauren from Busy Bee Speech, Danielle from Sublime Speech, Jessica from Consonantly Speaking
Rachel from Let’s Talk Speech Therapy, Jenn from Crazy Speech World, Natalie from Natalie Snyders , (Me!) Nicole from Allison’s Speech Peeps, Miss Speechie
Whew! It was a lot of us and I love every single one of these girls. They are constantly pushing me and making me better, both professionally and personally.
Here come lots of pictures coming your way!
(We love TPT!)
I roomed with the amazing Lauren from Busy Bee Speech and she is just as sweet in person as she is on her blog.
My absolute favorite part of the convention though was getting to present at ASHA with Jenna from Speech Room News. It has been a dream of mine for a while and presenting has really pushed me professionally. I could hardly believe my eyes and ears when I was told we filled (to the brink) a 550 person room and THEN had two overflow rooms of people listening to our presentation! God has truly blessed me with this career. I can say that it doesn’t even feel like work. I felt so loved as many of you came up to us and told us how our blogs have impacted your career. Please know that you have impacted me as well and I am so thankful for you!
I absolutely LOVE meeting the faces behind the screen. Please know you are always welcome to reach out in any way by coming up and introducing yourself at a convention, commenting on blog posts, or just emailing me! Thanks for a great time, ASHA!
Come as you are. Leave encouraged.
I'd love for you to join my newsletter family so that I can start sending weekly encouragement as well as access to an entire library of free resources like this Student Self-Progress Report Sheet!

Evidence for how much you and Jenna (and the other SLP bloggers) do for and mean to the SLP community online! Thank you again for all of your great materials and ideas.

November 16, 2015 at 12:12 amAs someone who did not get to go to ASHA this year, I want to say “Thank YOU” for posting this wonderful handout (though it would have been great to hear it in person), as this will be so helpful in designing therapy activities and writing goals. Would LOVE to meet you in person

November 16, 2015 at 5:54 pmHi Allison,
I was not able to make ASHA this year, so I really appreciate your sharing your ideas in this format! I have taken some notes on a few quick things I can incorporate into therapy at my grade school and am excited to see how it goes! Looking forward to possibly meeting you in 2016 at ASHA!
